Project Description:

Automatic tube-bending and pierce/form machine

Challenge:

The customer required 200 sample pieces on a short timeline and also required weld detection to be integrated with the forming and bending functions within the work cell.

Results:

The tooling was developed quickly enough to allow us to implement temporary stamping and bending steps to deliver the initial 200 pieces. The weld detection design was able to overcome variances in seam sizes and colour between batches, resulting in a successfully integrated multi-function machine.
