Project Description:

Retrofit and upgrade of a Hinge Assembly Machine

Challenge:

The design goal was to refurbish an obsolete machine to achieve faster cycle times, with just one operator instead of two to run and load the equipment.

Results:

Despite having no drawings of the machine, our electricians and millwrights fully upgraded its electrical system and motion control, as well as the hydraulics and pneumatic components. This provided a modernized platform for our tool & die makers to provide the tooling required for the customer's process. By restoring the machine to useful operation, the customer could continue to utilize existing skills and parts inventories already in the plant.
